On February 15 the Big Island Hawaii Region held their 5th Sweetheart Run. 50 Members in 21 cars showed up at 10:00 am at the Waikoloa Village Center parking lot. After getting our safety meeting and waiver sign-ups out of the way, we presented every lady with a red rose.
The group then made their way towards Kawaihae, on the windy, twisty Kawaihae Road. Our first stop was at Tex’s Drive-In for their famous Malasadas! Some grabbed a box full and munched away on the remaining drive! What a beautiful day it was for a drive. Laupahoehoe was one of our main stops with its amazing backdrop, so full of energy. We took the opportunity to take some photos including Jim and Pam’s new Cayman GTS. Gunners 89 Turbo Cabriolet was the perfect prop for all the ladies.
From there we drove back up to the highway and turned towards Hilo. Don’s Grill in Hilo was a great spot to end the beautiful day! Great service and we had our own room. Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated our sweethearts and enjoyed the day with their Porsche club family!
See you next year.
