BIH Parade Big Island Hawaii

Next month’s Driving Tour on the second Saturday, August 8th,  will be our first BIG ISLAND PARADE OF PORSCHES!

Since none of us got to enjoy the Porsche Parade in our back yard this year, in Palm Springs, we are going to have our own Big Island Porsche Parade. It should become a regular event every year top celebrate our gathering of Porsches here on the Big Island, to show our presence here in the community!

We will start in Hilo, assembling at 10:00 and Parade through the town starting around 10:30. Meeting place next to the mall, in front of Starbucks. Then we will proceed up Saddle Road  going over the saddle at 6,500 feet and stopping at Mauna Kea Park with restroom facilities that are clean and open. We should arrive around 12:00 and leave after a half hour break at 12:30 and proceed down Waiki’i Ranch Road where it ends at Mamalahoa Highway. Then we will turn South and proceed on Mamalahoa Highway into Kona on Palani Road and proceed down to Ali’i Drive, starting at Old Kona Airportending in Kona Town along the usual Parade Route used by the community which ends by the Royal Kona Resort around 1:30.

Lunch will depend on who is open to accommodate us and how many people will be interested in doing so. We will follow up based on everyone’s suggestions.

Let’s please let our Event Coordinator Dr. Mark Senft (tours@bih.pca.org) know how many of you will participate in this event. Covid waivers are on file for those who attended the last Tour on July 11th. They are good for a year. The old ones are superceded. If you need at the event, we have ample supplies of hand sanitizer and masks and gloves for your use if you do not have your own or forget yours.

See you in Hilo! Let’s have fun and shine up those pretty machines!

Aloha, Gunner
