My sweetheart is coming

It looks like this last batch of crazy weather will clear out in a few days, and we should have a gorgeous weekend to enjoy our cars and partners on Saturday, February 15th.

We will assemble in the Makai parking lot at the Waikoloa Village Center and proceed along the downhill to the Queen K, then North towards Kawaihae, turning uphill on the windy, twisty Kawaihae Road for 12 miles from sea level to 2,600 feet in Waimea, where we will turn East towards Honoka’a and our first stop at Tex’s Drive In for their famous Malasadas! Grab a box full and munch on the drive!

Next we will visit the peninsula of Laupahoehoe and experience its exclusive and narrow switchback road down to the park at the bottom.

From there we go back up to the highway and turn towards Hilo, making a turn Mauka up to Akaka Falls State Park, where the falls must be pumping! 800 feet of vertical water!

Back down the hill to the highway and off to Hilo, with a diversion on the 4 mile Scenic Byway around Papaikou, and on t6o our final destination, a romantic, no host lunch at Hilo Bay Café, near the Naniloa Resort just past Suisan.

Right now there are about 15 people signed up .
Please sign up by Thursday so I can firm up reservations for the space at the restaurant!
